COMPILE

Tomi Medved graduated at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, in 2012. From 2013 to 2017 he was employed at Elektro Energija d.o.o., the biggest electricity retail company in Slovenia, where he worked in the risk management and market analytics department.

Between 2012 and 2019 he was a PhD candidate working as a researcher at the Laboratory of Energy Policy (LEST) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
From October 2015 to March 2016 he was a visiting researcher at UCLA Smart Grid Energy Research Center (SMERC), where he focused on using AI – machine learning for agent-based modelling of demand response. At the Laboratory of energy policy he actively participated in several industrial and EU projects, is active in the ongoing EU projects (CROSSBOW, X-FLEX) and is Deputy coordinator of H2020 project COMPILE.

Since March 2022, he is the Head of the Laboratory for Energy Policy at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Esteban Pastor  is Energy Engineer by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). He holds a MSc in Renewable Energy by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT – KIC InnoEnergy).

He is currently Project Manager at ETRA working on business development and strategic positioning of ETRA in the field of Hydrogen.
He is deputy coordinator in the definition and pre-development of ORANGE.BAT, the industrial strategy for the decarbonization of the Spanish Ceramic industry, and the digitalization project led by ETRA within H2VLC, a programme that aims at creating a Hydrogen Valley in the metropolitan Area of Valencia, Spain. He has been participating in different EU-funded projects such as WiseGRID, for which he was Deputy Project Coordinator, CROSSBOW, as Demonstration and Evaluation Leader, and COMPILE and MERLON as Project Manager.

Stanislas has been working with REScoop.eu for the past 8 years. Before joining the association, he was part of a research project on the development of community micro-grids called Tournesol Microgrids.

Since joining REScoop.eu, Stanislas has been managing and supporting several European research projects such as REScoop PLUS and COMPILE. Stanislas used to represent the COMPILE. project in the role of Chair of the Consumer and Citizen Engagement Working Group of the BRIDGE initiative.

In the meantime, he has been involved in the development of several member working groups for the association such as the Citizen-led Renovation working group, the Offshore Wind working group and the Financing working group. In 2021, he took on a more active role coordinating the development activities of the federation and its members.

Mislav is a co-founder of Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ) where he currently works as programme coordinator. He gathered extensive experience by working for the United Nations Development Programme in Croatia, coordinating multiple international projects in the field of energy transition to renewable energy. In ZEZ, he is especially focused on expanding community participation in local energy projects.

Ms. Chloé Fournely completed her master’s degree in Physics Engineering at the Polytech Clermont-Ferrand engineering school in September 2019.

Chloé joined Laboratory of energy policy (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) in February 2020 as a researcher. Her work in the laboratory is mostly focussed on EU project X-FLEX. Currently she is doing PhD on local flexibility markets.

Alexandros received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the ECE department at the University of Patras. He is currently a PhD student at National Technical University of Athens, in the area of smart distribution networks.

In the past, has worked in the private sector, as an electrical engineer, focusing on electromechanical designs, prototyping and sound simulation projects. Since 2019, he has been working as a researcher at the SmartRUE research team, where he has been involved in European and national R&D and in upgrading the laboratory infrastructure.

He is a technical consultant of the Municipality of Rafina-Pikermi, representing the municipality at the COMPILE project. He is also active in promoting Energy Communities in Greece.

Bojan has more than 15 years of experience in the international sustainability arena working on nature protection, sustainable business practices, renewable energy sources and mitigating and adapting to climate change. Currently working in Petrol d.d., Ljubljana as Head of EU projects, Bojan is responsible for developing and managing innovative energy projects (Horizon 2020) and ensuring that developed solutions find their way to the market.

Bojan holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and is representative of Petrol d.d. in different associations such as TECES and CER.

Ana Rita is an Environmental Engineer with a Master in Energy Efficiency from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
After 15 years working with environmental associations in the area of Energy and Climate Change, in 2013 she was part of the foundation of Coopérnico, the first Portuguese renewable energy cooperative. Three years later, she joined the team as executive coordinator. Coopérnico defends a renewable, fair and responsible energy model and contributes to a social, environmental and energetically sustainable future, with renewable energy production, the commercialisation of electricity throughout the country and support for the creation of local renewable energy communities as its main areas of activity.

Jure is the Head of Etrel’s Research Department. In his career, Jure was Secretary of SUDEL (Regional organisation of UCPTE – European power systems union, predecessor of ENTSO-E), a member of UCPTE Working Group “Operational Statistics” and president of its sub-group “Power Balance”. Jure was also a member of Sustainable Transport Forum, Sub-group E-mobility Market of Services (STF SGEMS).

Jure has managed or was personally involved in elaboration of more than 100 studies for different power sector stakeholders. His professional expertise comprises project management, operation and development of power systems, feasibility studies in power sector, and operation and development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Jure led or is leading Etrel’s activities in eleven different projects in the field of electromobility in FP6, FP7 and H2020 programmes. He is also the author of Sustainable Urban Electromobility Plan for the Municipality of Ljubljana and the main contributor to the documents for public discussion related to electromobility published by the Energy Agency of the Republic of Slovenia.

Sara Arko is an anthropologist working in interdisciplinary research teams, dedicated to integrating people-centred approaches into the development of products, services, tools, or processes. Arko will discuss the H2020 project NRG2peers’ experiences with the establishment and operation of energy communities across Europe.”

She holds a PhD in cultural anthropology from University of Ljubljana and has been employed as a researcher at the Institute for Innovation and Development of University of Ljubljana since 2018, working on Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+ projects in the field of energy, mobility and university-industry cooperation. Her role in research and innovation projects is to bridge between anthropology and technical sciences, by researching the social contexts and engaging stakeholder groups into the development of project outputs via co-creative frameworks, thus ensuring that the values, needs and everyday practices are the starting point of a bottom-up innovation approach. In NRG2peers, a Horizon 2020 project aimed at supporting the uptake of peer-to-peer energy communities, she has recently led and facilitated a multi-sited, collaborative qualitative research in nine pilot energy communities across four EU member states.
