Speakers

Vincent is co-founder and coordinator of EnergieID.  He is Master in Mechanical Engineering with major in Mechatronics (KUL 2001). During his career he specialized in energy monitoring and management. His belief in cooperative entrepreneurship led him to co-found the co-operative EnergieID cvso (° 2014) to develop IT-tools to support climate action and energy efficiency.  EnergieID is technical coordinator of REScoopVPP and involved as development partner mainly in the local flexibility stack, the interfaces towards end-users and communities and the projects technological facilitation.

Jan is data scientist and developer. He has a master’s degree in electronics engineering and internet computing (KULeuven 2015), he got in touch with the co-operative energy sector through CORE, an engineering student’s co-operative. His work there focused mainly on designing and developing energy data analytics and visualizations. Today, he continues to build on this topic at EnergieID, where he leads the research and development of the back-end analytics and the company’s tasks in REScoopVPP, mainly on the flexibility control stack and data-handling.

M.Sc Joannes Laveyne graduated in electrotechnical engineering & renewable energy at the KHBO University College of the University of Leuven in 2010. He joined Ghent University the same year as project engineer, working on a wide portfolio of projects such as hydrogen economy, small and medium wind turbines, digital metering, energy management and electromobility. He is co-founder of Argus Technologies, a spin-off company of Ghent University developing energy management software for decentralised energy producers and industrial consumers. After the acquirement of the company by an international engineering concern in 2018, Joannes focuses on research on the large-scale integration of decentralised energy production in low-voltage distribution grids at the Electrical Energy Laboratory (EELAB), EEMMeCS dept., UGent.  He is currently involved in RescoopVPP, leading the workpackage around the primary control level: integration and flexibility potential of legacy equipment

Matt Fawcett is co-founder of Carbon Coop, an energy services cooperative based in Manchester, UK. He currently leads the companies Energy Systems Team, specialising in domestic demand side response and home automation services. He is responsible for the workpackage around the local control unit, our COFYbox.
